5 common rationales for staying vigilant about public health issues

The vast majority of people would agree, we have had an unfortunate and horrific public health crisis, because of this pandemic, COVID19. Those who pay attention, and are willing, willing, and/or able, to actively listen to the advice and recommendations of public health experts, understand that the only way to achieve this, to a safer and more manageable level, was first, to limit contact with others, except for basic needs, and to loyally, consistently, respect the concept and necessity, of social distancing, and the benefits of mask wearing. Although President Trump did, in fact, think it was a hoax (as he made clear, early on), he thought it was a lot less dangerous, than he ended up, and he didn’t feel that this fit neatly with his personal/political agenda, and/or self-interest, or, just making some kind of mistake, etc., we must now reopen America, incrementally tailored, and measured for public health instead. Politics – football! While many understand the intelligent approach, and though they may be zealous-crazy, and feel the economic impact, there are those who, either, do not believe, understand, or care about the potential dangers of pursuing, indiscriminately, not paying attention to what is required. How many people have to die and/or contract this virus before you care? While the nation is opening up, those who do so more quickly (with fewer restrictions/precautions/planning) have seen an unwanted recurrence of this disease. With that in mind, 5 logical steps/approaches, etc., we need to understand and use, and thus, this article will attempt, in short, to consider, examine, review, and discuss why this is so important.

1. It is important to continue social distancing and to wear a mask: Since it is clear that compliance with the principles/concepts of social distancing, and wearing a mask, has succeeded effectively, and significantly, in reducing the spread of the pandemic, why are some people so resistant to using this kind of common sense? Those, who declare, so-called, their liberty, more valuable than the health and life of others, are, alike, contemptible, and fail to understand what liberty is, which it really stands for and means!

2. Many states have more cases: While about 20 states are seeing spikes in new cases, states, like New York, have not only flattened it – the curve – it’s bent it -! Areas, where reopenings have been done, are gradual and planned, are using public health guidance, etc., are now doing better in terms of public health and well being!

4. Common sense: It’s a way, at last – time, to employ some common sense, and mindfulness, in order to get better advance payments, and minimize any negative repercussions of any second wave!

5. This is dangerous, and it’s not over!: Take this seriously and proceed wisely, because the actual dangers and potential repercussions are serious and nowhere near over!

No one wants or seeks any form of economic hardship, but, while one can still make money, in the future, and reclaim most, if not all, of the damage, you cannot reclaim your life, like the over 110,000 Americans who have died so far from this horrific pandemic! Use your head, before, it’s too late!
