↑Nikon D810 + Nikon 50mm f/1.8G.
Thank you my friend.
Great capture, indeed. I noticed the 50mm f/1.8G in the description. Were you just looking for something lighter than the Art to tote around? What are your impressions of the G?
Hi Will, and thanks.
I’ve owned the 50 1.8G since I’ve had my D810 (it was almost a freebie with my camera when I bought it last year), but I haven’t used it much. Interestingly, it was the only Nikon lens I owned when I was hired shortly thereafter to do a photo shoot, so I used it and it performed admirably. I like the bokeh and colours from this lens (in these respects, I was pleasantly surprised).
The downside? The lens only reaches the sort of sharpness I find acceptable at about f/4. Any aperture wider than that and I find it a little too soft.
As a “daylight lens” on the D810, it is brilliant. And of course, it’s very portable.
Hope that helps,
