Great shot. Love this, Peter.
Regardless of what equipment you are using, I’m glad you are back to having something in your hands that makes you happy and posting more often. This is great, you must of been pretty close with that 50!
I was as close as you see there, with my 50 ‘lux directed through one of the holes in the chain link fence (and slightly angled upward).
Great capture Peter.
Way back when, this is how I found your site in the first place!
Thanks Mark. If I only had more time, light, and above 0ºC temperatures…
Forgot to mention: As much as I like the tones in the last one, I think I prefer the rendering and B&W conversion here…It certainly suits the scene beautifully!
Great timing! He’ll love this one, no doubt! 🙂
His eyes shut while you have perfect focus on the ball? Genius. Good that you left room for the swing in the image……and room for the anticipated swing in the prior one. Baseball is all about anticipation. Really, this is delightful and masterful.
Thanks Karen. His near eye, near glove, and the ball are all on the same plane and in focus at f/1.4.
Have mercy…….it is impossible to miss the home run of all that. Your timing is impeccable and well considered. The accomplishment of this image is as heartful and beautiful as it is astonishing. You should consider taking up photography…..I think you could be really good at it. 🙂
Nice series Peter..and moment. If I had to choose I think, even with the action scene here that there is something about the ambiance and anticipation of No 1 which I choose. Got to love those colors as well from the M9.
Indeed. The M9/M-E sensor produces the best colours ever derived from a digital sensor, as of April, 2015.
His expression and the closed eyes are a classic….’eyes on the ball boy, eyes on the ball’
Well done Peter.
