Reflections of their life, ……open-hearted,…….. open-minded!…..
Now comes a time where even the wood oven “are silent”, even in canada and the reflections of the sunlight shines!
Thank you Andreas. Yes, we have more light (a good thing), but as you can tell from their clothes, it’s still VERY cold!
Your journey with this camera I would think is a little love hate, a shot like this I am guessing is on the Love side (really good).
Just a question putting wish lists aside what do you think Leica’s next M will be, I have seen some images of what Sony’s A9 might look like, it looks rangefinderish (their A7 cameras are average at best) I think Leica need to get it right and keep that fan base strong and not let Sony in to its base.
This is really important as your friend Steve Huff is now a Sony fanboy, and guys like you are becoming rare.
(laughing…) Yes, it’s certainly a love-hate thing with the M-Peter 😉 . I love the ergonomics, but hate the files that come out of this camera, and what’s worse is how those files (fail to) respond during post-processing.
I’m not a good prognosticator, so I really don’t know what Leica’s next M will feature (I know what it WON’T feature however… a CCD sensor 🙂 ).
And I will repeat one thing I’ve written in the past: if Leica tries to compete head-to-head with any other camera company, they will lose. Badly. Leica needs to be different.
As for Steve and his enthusiasm for Sony, I totally get it. Sony is at least pushing the proverbial envelop and innovating. They are disrupting the industry, and I mean that in a positive sense. I can’t stand the Sony haptics (their cameras are the opposite of Leica simplicity), but the image quality speaks for itself.
All in all, I really am the wrong person to ask about the future of digital cameras, not just because of my lack of prognosticating abilities. I’m also (re)turning into one of those “film = real photography” granola-eating-Birkenstock-sandal-wearing guys. I really dislike most of the digital output I’m seeing these days. People have the ability to really push the files and they are pushing them to extreme cartoonish/pseudo-HDR heights.
Yes, I’m getting old and grumpy.
I believe you are over-generalizing.
I, for instance am personally very fond of film. And granola. (Especially paired with that Greek Yogurt fad that is sweeping the nation!).
But I do not care for Birkenstocks one bit.
(And I don’t believe for one second that you are wearing them).
Been away…dropped in…I hear a sale coming on!! Don’t tell me your going to one those people that live in Alberta Mark?
I am sure us readers of your site will be happy to be old and grumpy with you😢
