I must confess that I don’t like the ‘thin’ rendering evident here. Maybe it’s me, maybe not. But I have seen lovely, rich b&w from digital cameras (M9 especially). Maybe you need to turn up the ISO a bit. I think you might agree that film would look better, but that’s academic if you’re not currently shooting it.
I wish I could say I wrote more words about aesthetic qualities than technical ones, but great photos need no commentary. 😉
Oh I agree wholeheartedly, film would look better. It always does. That is why I have a habit of returning to it.
In the interim, I’m trying to embrace the “thin” rendering of digital.
